Quick Facts About Ace of Fades

Ace of Fades Barber Shop, located in 29 Palms, has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from customers. To evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment, we will analyze the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, several customers praised the skill and consistency of the barbers at Ace of Fades Barber Shop. They mentioned that they had experimented with different barbers and received a consistently good haircut each time. The reviewer even expressed a personal favorite, Jess, and highly recommended her. This indicates that the barbers are competent and capable of delivering satisfactory results.
The welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the shop was also highlighted. Customers mentioned feeling a sense of belonging and being treated like valued individuals. This aspect is crucial in a service-oriented business and contributes to customers feeling comfortable and returning for future visits.
Another strength mentioned by a customer was the shop's ability to cater to a variety of styles. They mentioned that their children received different haircuts, a throwback haircut for their daughter and a mullet for their son, and were satisfied with the results. This indicates that the barbers at Ace of Fades Barber Shop are versatile and able to handle various requests.
An additional positive aspect noted by a customer was the owner's enthusiastic and happy demeanor, along with the rest of the crew. This contributes to a positive customer experience and creates a welcoming environment for patrons.
Moving on to the weaknesses, the most prominent issue mentioned by multiple customers was the long wait time. Several customers expressed frustration with wait times ranging from 2 to 3 hours. They felt that the wait time outweighed the quality of the haircut and compared it to other establishments with shorter wait times. This suggests a need for improvement in managing wait times and ensuring efficient service.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the lack of availability of barbers. One customer mentioned that there were never enough barbers or that they were often occupied with other tasks, causing delays for customers. This indicates that there may be staffing or scheduling issues that need to be addressed.
A few customers also mentioned a decline in the overall quality of the shop over time. They observed a high turnover rate of barbers and felt that the quality of haircuts had diminished since the shop's opening. This suggests a need for better recruitment and retention practices to maintain consistent quality.
Some customers commented on unprofessional behavior from certain employees, including being loud, talking excessively, and taking frequent breaks. This detracted from the overall experience and made it difficult for customers to enjoy their visit. This highlights the need for improved professionalism and customer service training for all employees.
Additionally, one customer mentioned the presence of a barber with a controversial symbol on their storage container, which raised concerns about the shop's professionalism and inclusivity. It is essential for the shop to address and rectify any such issues promptly to maintain a positive reputation.
Lastly, a customer mentioned the owner's combative response to negative reviews. This suggests a lack of effective customer service and conflict resolution skills. It is important for the owner to respond to feedback in a professional and empathetic manner to maintain a positive relationship with customers.
In conclusion, Ace of Fades Barber Shop in 29 Palms has several strengths, including skilled barbers, a welcoming atmosphere, and versatility in styling. However, there are also weaknesses, such as long wait times, lack of barber availability, declining quality, unprofessional behavior from some employees, and issues with the owner's response to negative reviews. Addressing these weaknesses would contribute to creating a more positive and satisfying experience for customers.

Best TL Reviews

For anyone deciding to give this place a shot based off of the reviews don’t let the “wait time” issue steer you away. There are plenty of times where there is basically no wait. I have found Thursdays around 3 or 4 to be a slow time. Even if it is busy it’s worth the wait. The ladies that work here are great at what they do. Most of them are very sociable and sweet. They make you feel like you belong there. Extremely welcoming. I’ve experimented with the same style cut with 4 of the barbers and each one was pretty consistent. The owner Jess is amazing. She’s my personal favorite and I highly recommend her.
Best barbershop in 29 hands down!
Walked in at 2:50 and walked out at 5:27 This place has good staff and gives good quality hair cuts but the wait time is insane. I know quality takes time but at some point the wait time will out weigh the quality of the cut. If I get a great hair cut but had to wait 2 hours and 37 min then that’s too long for me. I would rather go to stud cuts and get about the same quality for 1/3rd the wait. The only reason why I stayed is because after a certain point I was curious to see how long it would be. This is the type of slow that can’t be blamed on high marine traffic. It’s just slow, good cuts though. Didn’t see one cut leave that looked bad.
About a year ago this place was legit, could come and get a haircut in about 45 mins to an hour. Now, you can’t get in and out under 2 hours. There’s never enough barbers or they are always off doing something else, giving people special treatment (when numbers are going.) The quality of this place has gone down.
Unfortunately there are barely any barbers that are worth going to in this town, and they do have a couple that do legit haircut here.
But the wait isn’t worth the one beer they give to customers. If you can find a different Barber shop, I would, even if you have to drive to Yucca or Palm Springs.
7th time and havent been disappointed. My daughter got a throwback haircut my son got a mullet and they always seem to keep me squared away as well. You might have to wait a little while but they do a good job.
Disappointing first experience. They opened later than posted hours with one barber. I was 3rd in line and waited over an hour before a second barber finally arrived. After she set up her station, she proceeded to look at her phone rather than cut hair. Happy to take my business elsewhere, I split before someone (anyone?) was ready to seat me. This business was not ready for the day.
Place is okay, hair's been butchered a couple times. Recently stopped getting cut here, I noticed a high turnover rate of barbers and quality started going down since opening.
They offer free beer and a pool table so place attracts a certain demographic. Place gets way too packed for such a small shop, it is definitely not worth an hour+ wait.
At one point there was barber who had a swastika on their storage container. I do not know if they are still there since I stopped going. Take what you will from that.
edit: decided to take a look at my reviews out of boredom. Man, the owner's responses to these reviews are bad lol.
Employees are very unprofessional. Obnoxiously loud screaming in your ear while cutting your hair. They spend more time talking than cutting your hair with their friends just sitting there. Take 10 minute vape breaks in between each haircut. Utterly ridiculous. They have a few employees that are great and give great service but the rest of them are immature and make it almost unbearable. Don't come on Saturday or Sunday you'll wait 3 hours. The owners combative response to this review is exactly why their service is terrible.
Absolutely phenomenal service! Jess and the rest of the crew were so enthusiastic and happy every time someone new came into the shop. Jess took me from looking like a scraggly caveman to looking well groomed professional. Came in for a beard trim, got some good conversations and a relaxing experience. I would highly recommend this shop.
