Quick Facts About Best Kept Secrets Barbershop
Best Kept Secrets Barbershop has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from customers. It is important to consider these comments in order to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
One of the strengths mentioned by the customers is the quality of the haircuts provided. Stephen, in particular, expresses great satisfaction with the haircuts he and his son received, stating that they will be returning every month. This suggests that the barber, possibly Stephen, has a high skill level and is able to deliver excellent results.
However, there are also several concerning weaknesses that are consistently mentioned by customers. The most prevalent issue is the lack of time management and professionalism displayed by Tammy, the loctician. Multiple customers complain about having to wait for hours, despite having made appointments. This reflects poorly on the business and raises questions about their respect for their customers' time. This is a significant weakness that needs to be addressed, as it may cause customers to seek services elsewhere.
Furthermore, there are multiple comments about Tammy's nonchalant attitude towards her clients. She seems to have a disregard for their time and lacks consideration for their needs and preferences. This unprofessional behavior has led some customers, including long-term regulars, to take their business elsewhere. This is another significant weakness as it demonstrates a lack of customer care and may result in the loss of loyal customers.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the lack of expertise in cutting straight/Caucasian textured hair. The customer had called in advance to ask if someone would be able to handle their hair type but was ultimately unsatisfied with the result. This suggests that the barber may not have the necessary skills or experience for this specific hair type. This could potentially limit the customer base, as individuals with different hair textures may not feel confident in receiving a quality haircut at this establishment.
One customer also had a negative experience with an extension service provided by Best Kept Secrets Barbershop. They claim that the person handling their extensions did not know what they were doing, leading to the extensions being attached to their natural dreads instead of the tips. This lack of knowledge or skill in a specific service can be detrimental to the reputation of the business, especially considering the long-term consequences for the customer's hair.
In conclusion, Best Kept Secrets Barbershop has both strengths and weaknesses. Positive feedback highlights the quality of haircuts provided by the establishment. However, there are significant weaknesses that need to be addressed, namely the issues of time management, professionalism, and expertise with different hair types. These shortcomings have resulted in customers seeking services elsewhere and can damage the reputation of the business. It is important for the establishment to take these criticisms seriously and make the necessary changes to improve the overall customer experience.

Although Tammy is good at what she does she needs to be better with time. You might as well be a walk in because we sat in that barber shop for a legit 4 hours even though we had an appointment at 4pm. She does not acknowledge the fact that you are just sitting there and that is super unprofessional! If there are any other locticians out there please open up a shop in Frederick so we can have options.
I really like Tammy BUT she really needs to do better with time management and consideration of her clients, especially those that have been regulars for years. I speak for multiple people as I type this. Tammy has a very nonchalant attitude when it comes to her being inconsiderate of her clients and their time. She gives a vibe of, she knows that she is going to have clientele because it appears that she is the only loctician in the area. Which is actually not true..you just have to look and ask around. I’ve tried with Tammy on multiple occasions, but her nonchalant attitude and total disregard for her clients time, as if we don’t have lives..pushed me to take my business elsewhere. Myself and others have been going to Tammy for years and this has been a constant problem. Tammy needs to do better, but I’m not so sure that she’s willing to. Sadly, I feel that it will take Tammy losing her clientele and her livelihood for her to really take this serious and make a change.
Stephen gave my Son and I the greatest haircuts of our lives! So satisfied we will be coming back every month!
My husband took my son in for a haircut tonight. Eric absolutely butchered his hair. My son was very clear about what he wanted. He showed the barber a picture and was assured that he could do the cut. It looks nothing like what was requested. My son had an Afro. Eric cut most of it off. He came home hurt and angry. I do not recommend this barber at all. Highly unsatisfied.
I don't feel that the barber really knew how to cut the back of my hair...which I called prior to ask if someone could cut straight/Caucasian texture hair. I just wanted a shape up/razor cut in the back. It didn't turn out terrible, but not really faded as I would have preferred (a little choppy) & showed the picture of what I wanted. It also took way longer than it should have (if he was an experienced barber).
Tammy is hand downs the best loctician I been to in the area, but is not a respector of time and very unprofessional. She is very nice and respectful when she actually shows for an appointment. My first appointment she relocated and did not notify me. I showed for the appointment, call several time, but received no response. She texted a few hours later asking if I could come in, I live 30 mins away so I rescheduled. Next appointment she did and awesome job. My son hair looked great, loved it. From then on I normally booked the first appointment on Saturday, around 11am. Only once did she show on time. This went on for about a year, like I said, she is good, and I was desperate. In December, I had three appointment and she was a no show for each. No call, did not answer the phone or respond to texts, nothing. The appointments weren't even on the same day. My kids left school early, I had to scramble to find someone to do their hair before Christmas. Such a waste of time. At the end of the, it is like she knows how good she is so, she can afford to be unprofessional and completely disregard clients.
I am new to the area and I just left this horrendous establishment and I couldn’t be more upset. I believe my barber’s name was Jake and as soon as he began cutting my hair I knew it was all downhill from there. A tell tell sign of a bad barber is being too gentle and barely pressing the clippers to your head. That is how my entire experience went. I asked for a temp fade and the man had no technique of how to perform a very simple haircut. There is no progression of blending my hair up to the top, neither sides of my head are even, and my lineup is flat out weak. I paid $35 to come home and watch YouTube tutorials to try and fix my hair. Do not come here.
Went to get extensions on my dreads. Biggest mistake ever. The girl didn’t know what she was doing. A couple years later I had to cut my dreads because they were too heavy. She did the extensions over my natural dreads. Not at the tips. That’s a no no in hair and if I wasn’t nice I would have probably shot the place up. Have a 1 star because I couldn’t give less. They ruined my hair. They should be ashamed of themselves hiring her. She’s 100% ignorant
