Quick Facts About City Clippers II

Strengths: 1. Consistently provides excellent haircuts and services. Customers praise the quality of the cuts they receive, noting that they always leave satisfied. 2. Offers a traditional barber shop experience with razor shaves and hot towels at the end of the service. This attention to detail enhances the overall experience for customers. 3. Friendly and skilled staff. Customers appreciate the professionalism and expertise of the barbers at City Clippers II. They consistently provide great cuts regardless of the barber. 4. Long-standing reputation. The fact that the customer has been going to City Clippers II for many years indicates that they have built a loyal customer base over time. 5. Fair pricing. Although the price for a cut is slightly higher compared to other places in the area, customers find it worth it because they believe City Clippers II provides better service and earns the extra price. 6. Accepts cash only. While some customers may find this inconvenient, it also means that the shop does not have to deal with credit card fees and can keep its prices lower.
Weaknesses: 1. Lack of cleanliness. Multiple customers complain about the cleanliness of the shop, particularly citing hair and dirt accumulation. Dirty shaving cream machines and unpainted walls indicate a lack of attention to cleanliness, which can be off-putting for customers. 2. Inconsistent station cleanliness. Although some barbers are willing to clean their stations upon request, there are still complaints about a lack of regular cleaning throughout the day. Customers expect a clean environment in a barber shop and feel that the lack of cleanliness is unacceptable. 3. Wait times can be long. One customer warns that towards the end of the day, wait times can be as long as an hour or more. This may inconvenience customers who prefer a quick and efficient service. 4. Customer service issues. Some comments mention instances of rudeness and unprofessional behavior from the barbers. This includes attempting to hustle customers for more money and prioritizing personal phone calls over the haircut. 5. Language barriers. One customer mentions that when they complained about a barber's addiction to their phone, the barbers started speaking in Russian, making it difficult to communicate and address the issue. The lack of effective communication can lead to misunderstandings and frustration for customers. 6. Lack of attention to customer experience outside of haircuts. While customers generally enjoy the haircut itself, there are no mentions of additional amenities or services that could enhance the overall experience, such as refreshments or entertainment options in the waiting area.
In conclusion, City Clippers II has strengths in its consistent and excellent haircuts, traditional barber shop experience, skilled and friendly staff, fair pricing, and longstanding reputation. However, it also has weaknesses in terms of cleanliness issues, long wait times, customer service problems, language barriers, and lack of attention to the overall customer experience. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for improving the shop's overall reputation and customer satisfaction.

Best TL Reviews

I always get a perfect cut here no matter which barber I get. Razer shave and hot towel at the end. Great place, great crew, best cuts. Was back again today and once again a great cut. And again on the 18th of March. Been going here for many years.
Always get a great cut no matter which barber cuts my hair(that’s rare). Price for a cut is currently $22, which is slightly more than other places in the area, but I keep going back because they earn that extra.
I go every 7-10 days and give an even $30 ($8 tip) and it’s totally worth it.
Some of the guys could clean their station better, but when I ask they always spray and wipe down their equipment before using on me.
Try to go earlier in the day because by the end of the day you might need to wait as long as an hour or more.
My only real complaint is the cleanliness. I have attached pictures of the shaving cream machines which have looked this disgusting since I started coming here a year ago, and the wall where there used to be an AC, but now just looks terrible and unpainted. And while it’s a barber shop, hair is absolutely everywhere and does not appear to ever be cleaned. I usually go for a cut first thing in the morning and there is clearly hair from the day, week, month before. Only the floors are swept, nothing else gets cleaned daily let alone a few times per day. It’s kind of gross.
As a result of this issue, I’ve had to downgrade my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Cleanliness is extremely important!!!
I came to get a hair cut and got the best experience ever! The barber shop is beautifully designed, newly renovated and updated. It was very busy and I did not have to wait at all.
I’ve been coming here periodically for awhile now and never had an issue. The beard trims are $20…at least that’s what it said on the wall. The last time I was there the guy hustled me and told me the beard trim was $30 and then had the audacity to stare at me with my money in his hand until I said he could keep $5. I didn’t say anything day of because I had been coming there for awhile and quite frankly don’t care about a couple bucks. However, I have no plans of ever going back there. They tried to hustle me and hustled their way out of a long time repeat customer.
Incredibly relatable. Take great pride in their work
I cannot speak highly enough about this barber shop. The service is wonderful, prompt, and reliable. The chairs are comfortable, well-designed, and like something out of a different era. Hot towels and straight razor shaves are standard.
The prices are fair ($20 for a normal cut) and, for the offering and location, could easily be doubled without affecting my business in the slightest. Notably, though, they are strictly **CASH ONLY**. However most banks have branches within walking distance so it's not a problem to run out and get it if you forget.
The space is small (as is to be expected given the neighborhood) and it can get crowded on weekends and around holidays. Still, the staff (usually 4-6 barbers at a time) make an effort to keep the line moving and the wait, in my experience, is not bad at all. I've never waited more than a half hour for a cut. They also offer appointments if you call ahead which, provided you're on-time, allows you to avoid the wait all together.
The barbers are as willing to work in silence as they are to talk with you about anything for the entire cut.
Also, they are almost always open. I have yet to go there on a holiday and find that they are closed.
Overall, a really terrific establishment.
The one star is for absolute rudeness, and not even a great haircut. Noticed I had an accent straight away, and asked me where I usually get my haircut...and then asked how much it was usually. I told him and he said “with tip?”. Very subtle seed planting there that you want a tip....
Then I give him 40 dollars cash (haircut is 23). He asks “how much do you want back?” In front of everyone. I said “well how much is the haircut?”. He said “23 without tip”.
Not sure whether the guy is a beggar or a barber. Bald headed guy with a beard. He said see you next time...well obviously you won’t. Have you got no shame? I’d be embarrassed
The barber was more focused on his phone calls and phone...He made me wait while he finished trolling his phone...then during the haircut his phone rang and I asked him to ignore it and finish my haircut...he refused and answered it...he didn't like my request and told me next time I should have another person cut my hair there; he won't...and then when I told him I didn't plan to return, he didn't care...when he finally finished the mediocre haircut as a result of his focus on his phone, and I gave him no tip...he said, no tip? I said, you must be kidding...you are rude, couldn't focus, did a mediocre haircut and you want a tip too! No...also when I cam into the shop, another barber was talking on his phone with the speaker on blaring while he was laid back in his chair as though lounging and "man spreading" and glared at me...then when I complained to the barber about his addiction to his phone, they all started speaking in Russian so I couldn't understand them...I will never go back here again and the owner and his business should be boycotted!
