Quick Facts About Concord Mall
The Concord Mall, based on the comments provided, has a mixture of strengths and weaknesses. The strengths include the sentimentality and nostalgia associated with the mall, as well as specific features like the arcade and photo booth that were enjoyed by visitors. The mall also serves as a gathering place for the community, evident from the support for the local jcpenney grand opening. Additionally, the presence of certain stores, such as Hobby Lobby and Nail Care, are noted as positives.
However, the weaknesses of the mall are prominent. One of the main concerns is its decline over the years. There is a sentiment of sadness and disappointment expressed by multiple commenters who remember the mall as a vibrant and exciting place in their youth. Many stores have closed down, leaving only a few remaining, and the overall atmosphere of the mall has been described as a "dead mall" or a "lonely, pathetic shell." This decline is attributed to neglected physical appearance and a lack of investment by multiple owners.
Another weakness highlighted is the lack of maintenance. The commenters mention the unkept landscape, dimly lit parking lot, and an overall feeling of disrepair. The absence of proper lighting in the parking lot creates safety concerns for visitors, and the poor upkeep further contributes to the mall's declining appeal.
Despite its weaknesses, there is still some loyalty and fondness expressed for the Concord Mall. The sentimental connection and memories associated with the mall make it a special place for certain individuals, emphasizing its significance in their lives. The presence of Enzo's Pizza, considered the best pizza in the opinion of one commenter, is also highlighted as a positive aspect of the mall.
Overall, the strengths of the Concord Mall lie in its sentimental value and specific features that were enjoyed by visitors. However, the mall faces significant weaknesses in its decline, lack of maintenance, and diminished presence of stores. In order for the mall to regain its appeal, it would require significant investment, renovations, and efforts to attract new tenants.

I Love The Concord Mall! I wish they could have kept it going bc I grew up there and worked there in High School too. It was Amazing and THE Spot to be hanging out at. There's an arcade and few stores still there. My favorite thing was the photo booth! I still have so many of those tiny little pics ???? Good Memories of location and mall always!
We as community need to do something about this place, It used to be a beautiful place to go with the family! Let's support our local jcpenney in the grand opening on jcpenney beauty date 12/09.
I feel so sad to watch this mall slowly die ???? I remember when it was young, vibrant, and exciting, and now I see it in its death throes. I went to Penny's for a particular brand of high-quality white t-shirts that I love, but I went in through the main entrance and walked through the mall. Very few stores were still open, and I didn't even realize that Penny's was closing until I got there! I was shocked, but I guess I shouldn't have been when I saw this, considering how much online shopping I do. It was still a very stark reminder that nothing lasts forever, good or bad. I passed the game arcade and was shaken to see such a poor, lonely, pathetic shell of an institution that was once a focal point of my youth, decayed to such a state as this. It was a hard pang to the memory of my youth. This wistful center of attention in my formidable years now reduced to bravely await a certain death. I didn't realize until that moment that even though it was not a famous battle, a tragic accident, cause of nature, or careless incident, that some impersonal losses can hurt so much. I'm waxing philosophically, I realize, but maybe I am practicing eulogies that will apply to me as well as every other person in existence, and hopefully leaving a marker or trail that others may follow and understand in times to come. If you've made it this far, thanks for taking the time to follow my trail, and I hope we've shared some sort of kinship. Shared memories are powerful and binding and keep humanity together for the benefit of the future. May our shadows never grow less.
This could be a very nice property, but the sad reality is that it has been neglected for years throughout multiple ownership changes who were unwilling to spend the capital to keep up its physical appearance or attract new tenants. I’m glad it still open because it’s a great museum of the decidedly unhip architectural styles that went to the wayside quite quickly in the early 1970s.
This place, like so many others in America, is a empty shell of what it once was. There are a few stores that are hanging in there. I visit Hobby Lobby but have little cause to go inside the mall. The worst part is the mall no longer keeps the lights on in the parking lot so when visiting stores that have their own entrances it is pitch black, Very disconcerting and a bit scary. I do see people coming in and out of one mall entrance with take out pizza boxes occasionally. This is an aging building surrounded by unkept landscape and an empty, dark parking lot.
It's honestly a dead mall lol whose anchor is a pizza place, the BEST pizza in my opinion (Enzo's Pizza). But I grew up in this mall's heyday so it'll always be awesome to me
There really aren't many stores left in this mall, but the ones that are still here are great to shop in. Especially Nail Care. They do an amazing job !
