In analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of Dominican Hair Design place, it is evident that the salon has several strengths in terms of its ability to handle difficult hair types, particularly thick and natural hair. Customers appreciate the patience and gentleness of the staff, as well as their ability to save damaged hair and make it beautiful again. The salon is also praised for its moderate use of heat during the drying process, which helps to prevent hair damage. Customers feel welcomed and cared for by the stylist, Rosa, who pays attention to detail and proactively addresses customers' needs.
However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed. One customer with long hair felt that the stylist, Kiky, did not provide sufficient explanations and took too long during the cutting process. This lack of communication also resulted in another customer receiving services they did not request. Additionally, there were complaints about the handling of 4C hair, indicating a potential lack of expertise in dealing with this hair type. Finally, customers expressed concerns about excessive heat during blow drying and pressing, suggesting the possibility of hair damage.
To address these weaknesses, Dominican Hair Design place should focus on improving communication with customers. This includes clearly understanding their requests and providing explanations for the steps involved in the styling process. The salon could also consider providing additional training for staff members to ensure they are equipped to handle all hair types, including 4C hair. Finally, it may be beneficial to revisit the techniques used for blow drying and pressing to ensure that the heat is at a safe and appropriate level to prevent damage to customers' natural curls.
By addressing these weaknesses and building on their existing strengths, Dominican Hair Design place can continue to improve their services and provide a positive experience for all customers.

Best TL Reviews

I have long, thick, natural hair. I have went to this salon several times years ago but I will never go back again. They do not know how to properly care for natural hair. They are very rough when it comes to natural hair. I had to stop the shampoo lady several times due to her raking my hair out from root to end while wet. I was at the shampoo bowl for over an hour, although I came with my hair de tangled in sections. I truly believe something was put in my hair to make it “manageable” for them. I have waist length hair and after washing my hair after the blow out, my hair was falling out from the root. I had several straight strands of hair. My natural ladies please beware, they truly do not know how to properly care for our hair.
I came here because my daughter’s hair was matted due to a box braid experience that was unfixable. They were so patient and so amazing with her being so tenderheaded. The mess that my daughter’s hair was in made me and her cry I thought we were going to have to cut all of her hair off!!! They saved my baby’s hair and made it so beautiful!!! She will only go to Kika from now on! I am so grateful for her and for this shop! Thank u again so so much!
Thank you Rosa for restoring my faith in hair salons. I have been doing my own hair for years now after a horrible experience which left my hair incredibly damaged and lifeless.
When I came into Dominican Hair Design, I felt welcomed. Almost like Rosa was glad to have me there. She put so much effort in deep cleaning and conditioning my hair. My scalp felt clean and ready for styling. The heat from the dryer unlike other salons I've been to, was moderate. There wasn't a huge cloud of smoke coming from underneath my chair, which in the past signaled the damaging of my hair. She showed me in little ways that she cared for my hair. In addition to that, her gentleness and clarity on next steps made me feel secure in her styling my hair.
Lastly, I had some uneven parts in the back once my hair was straight. Instead of just cutting it without notice, she showed me the angles and waited for my consent. Prior to me getting up out of the chair, she also took a look outside and noticed it was raining and offered to wrap my hair to preserve my style – way to be proactive!
I will 100% be back! And this is a big deal for me, seeing as I have had little faith all these years in finding a regular stylist.
Thank you to all of your staff, but a special shoutout to Rosa!
Very worst day for me not good enough explanation. one of the lady name I think kiky behavior was not good enough for me.talking so long time for every step even they don't know how to cut long hair .
My first blowout in years and the salon did not disappoint. The ladies were extremely professional and friendly and handled my 4C hair with care. Hair came out so silky smooth and was much longer and healthier than I expected. I will be going back every 6-8 mos for a blowout in the future. Thank you ladies!! :-)
I just had the most horrible experience at this location. I brought my 9 year old daughter to get her hair done. I took her the day before to see if they could do her hair.....it's really thick and it's a lot of hair. They said they could but it would cost me about 100.00. I agreed to the price and brought her the next morning. Midway through....they told me it was too much hair and they could not do it. So I told them fine....we are leaving. Hair wet and all. The back of her shirt was soaked......it was just horrible!!!!! Don't bring your 4c little girls....they don't know how what to do with that hair type. Take them to a professional cause obviously there are none at this location. Very disgusted!!!
I only gave them two stars because they do not communicate well and does what they want on the hair. I simply went in and asked the owner for a wash, deep condition, blow dry and trim with no pressing. First, after the wash and condition the one lady that washed my hair set me in the chair and started putting rollers on my hair for a roller set that I did not ask for and I tried to communicate to her that but she did not speak English so I had to wait for the owner to come from the back to stop her. Next she sent me to another stylist (Tina) who I thought was going to simply blow dry and trim my hair so I could leave but instead she parted and combed my hair into sections and then set me under the dryer for about 10-15mins. After taking me from under the hair dryer she then proceeded to blow dry my hair with the heat all the way on high, literally pressed my hair with the blow dryer after I said I did not want my hair pressed because I was planning on doing something else to my hair so I really just wanted the trim. The amount of heat that they use on your hair is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure my natural curls are damaged because she had that blow dryer so hot you could smell it and the whole shop was foggy. They are good at blowouts and pressing but the point is I simply did not ask for that, they need better communication.
This is the best blowout I have ever had. I can't wait to go for my next one this afternoon. It has been two weeks and my hair still looks amazing!
