Holy Smokes! Found this gem of a diner by mistake when looking to stop on our travels. Do not be deceived, this diner is fanastic and offers a list of countless menu items that will satisfied whatever you are craving. The staff was super friendly, kind, and went above and beyond to make our dinning experience enjoyable.
Lets talk food, WOW! For starters I had the Maryland Crab soup which was hearty, rich, and full of vegetables and the perfect amount of crab meat. For my main course I had the Mile High Meatloaf, and they weren't kidding it was a mile high of goodness. The dish was composed of the large, healthy size pieces of juicy yet firm meatloaf placed on top of two thick slices of seeded bread, and covered with creamy mash potatoes, crisp onion rings and covered in brown gravy. WORDS CANT DESCRIBE HOW DELICIOUS IT WAS. Put it this way, I didn't talk the entire meal. My wife had the stuffed green peppers and said it was cooked to perfection. Prices vary depending on what you order but will fit any budget. A must stop to enjoy a great meal. Wish I lived near by so I could go every week!
Delicious food in a convenient spot.
My wife and I slammed into heavy I-95 traffic as we drove from NC to NJ on Father's Day.
We found this diner after looking for local restaurants.
We enjoyed 2 vegetarian burgers. Serving sizes were generous and the staff placed and delivered our orders quickly, especially considering it was a highly busy Father's Day.
We stumbled upon this Diner! Happy that we did! Very Very busy place, staff is friendly, helpful. Patient, quick service. Portions are bigger than they need to be! Lots of menu options. Bathrooms were Very clean......I needed to inform that ladies room was low on TP....
Wonderful stop for breakfast. First time having chipped beef and I was so delighted. The pancakes for the kids came out perfect and so did my girlfriend's biscuits and gravy. Would def recommend to anyone in the area.
As diners go, this place is excellent! More than generous portions, friendly (most of the time) staff and quick service. I've yet to be disappointed with the food. Not open 24 hours, and lunch and dinner service can be quite crowded.
One of my favorite places, I have been going there for at least 20 years. The owners are great, the servers are friendly. It is a very welcoming and comfortable place. Food is good and nice portions. Prices reasonable. It was also completely remodeled during the pandemic period. A dinner often includes a cup of soup, salad, and entree (depending on the meal of course). Soups are always good too. Carryout available.
Crab cake was large and deliciously prepared. The fish in the fish and chips was lightly battered and a light fish used. Lovely staff and clean! As in any really good diner, the desserts looked mouthwatering. Carrot cake moist and delicious. Will return when in the area.
The cliche is accurate; "you get what you ask for."
I knew it would be a tough day when Bernadette could not dedicate time to take my order. So, first, I got a greeting, then an "I'll be back." Then, I got some water, then a, "I'll be back." I saw Bernadette pass my table about five times before getting her attention to ask her name.
It was noticeable how I was alone and did not receive the same attention as other patrons who must frequent the area.
I was going to leave after receiving her name. Maybe that was her queue to take my order. I made my request known for well-done bacon. The chef honored my request by throwing the bacon to cook in grease for a few. I could tell by how crunchy the bacon came out. There was no bacon fat, pork flavor, or crunchy strips of greasy bacon.
The pancakes were nice and brown on the top, mushy and lacking underneath. The eggs were a rush job. They taste like they only sat on the grill long enough to lose the liquid form, then plop on the plate with some cheese.
The homefries also lacked attention to cooking detail. I assume someone tossed the potatoes on the grill, let one side get some color, then placed it on the plate, color side up. It could only go this way. The underside of what looked to be tasty homefries turned out to be mashed potatoes with a brown top. Again, the quality was a step below your typical diner fare.
Thank you, White Marsh; I will head to Catonsville for my Double T craving.
