Good haircut, customer service needs serious work
I went in with my three little boys today, and the place was empty with 5 barbers sitting in chairs checking their phones. I was able to get my three boys into chairs right away. I explained the haircuts and the barbers started all at the same time. The manager with the tattoos was cycling through what show to put on the 4 huge screen televisions in the barbershop and with no customers except three children he decided that "something about mary" was appropriate. The whole time I was there the barbers didn't acknowledge me or attempt to make conversation which was surprising to me in the current pandemic that they didn't care to engage the customer for the sake of an increased tip.
The two barbers finished two of my sons haircuts and the third took another 20 minutes. I asked if they had any lollipops and they said they were out. I was satisfied by the cuts but baffled by their lack of customer service. I have waited tables and know that you want to always be friendly to your customers and engage with them. I asked the one barber to see if they don't normally get children so maybe its an anomaly but he told me they get kids from a nearby school all the time. One of the barbers went out and came back with Cuban coffee for the others barbers and with me as the only paying customer in there post pandemic barbershop, they didn't care to offer coffee to me. Unfortunately knowing how to cut hair or start a barber shop doesn't mean you know how to provide good customer service. It's also unfortunate because this place has tons of potential. I left no tip in an effort to convey that I was literally paying for haircuts and nothing more.
I had to work a few weekends back and knew I wouldn't have time to go to my usual before barber before heading out. Located in the same plaza as my usual lunch place and dry cleaners, I had passed by FadeShop more than a few times and decided to give them a try.
Johnatan was my first barber at FadeShop a month ago, and was able to style me nicely with just "cut my hair short but not looking like I'm in the Army." He even gave me a full shave. This past Saturday was my second visit and I went for a full fade. I didn't catch the other barber's name but my hair looks clean and well presented.
The salon is well lit, and modern looking. There are a few TV's around, plus the classic barbershop talk vibe - politics, sports, etc, etc. Some self-care products are also on sale.
I took my son to Hector . He was amazing he took his time with my son and cut his hair exactly how I wanted it. I will definitely take him again and highly recommend that you go see Hector.
It's a very nice shop, very clean and modern, they always have something good playing on the TV wether it be Comedy shows, Movies, TV Shows, Music etc...
My barber Hector is very knowledgeable, reliable, clean, prompt, has great conversations and a true professional of his craft. You can feel comfortable and relaxed while he makes you look like a million bucks and ready for success!
Hector always gives amazing service. He is very professional. My son loves getting his haircuts with him. I recommend Hector to anyone looking for a awesome barber.
Very professional and the barbers are top notch.
Have taken my 3 boys and myself to Hector @ Fade for years. Fade, straight blade, mustache or anything else Hector can do it. Always friendly and knows how to deal with kids. I highly recommend Hector, the rest of the staff is great as well.
