Quick Facts About Fox Island Grocery & Deli

Strengths:
1. Convenience: Many customers appreciate the convenience of the Fox Island Grocery & Deli. It is the only store on the island, saving residents from having to drive to larger supermarkets like Fred Meyer or Safeway. The store offers last-minute groceries, propane, and coffee, making it a one-stop shop for essentials.
2. Local Corner Market Feel: The store has a local corner market feel and is known for having friendly and welcoming staff. The fact that the staff knows most everyone adds a personal touch and creates a sense of community.
3. Additional Facilities: The addition of Zogs pub and lounge has been well-received by customers. It provides a space for people to meet up with friends, enjoy live music, and have a drink. The incorporation of a bar and restaurant in the back adds value and makes the store more than just a grocery and deli.
4. Quality Products: Despite some comments about prices, many customers find the quality of products at Fox Island Grocery & Deli to be good. The FI pizzas and coffee are specifically mentioned as being decent options. The store is also praised for offering a solid selection of beer.
5. Local Ownership: The fact that the store is locally owned is seen as a positive aspect by some customers. Supporting a locally owned business adds to the sense of community and contributes to the local economy.
Weaknesses:
1. Price: The primary weakness mentioned in the comments is the high prices of the groceries. Several customers express dissatisfaction with the prices, comparing them unfavorably to other establishments. The lack of competition on the island allows the store to charge higher prices, which can be a deterrent for some customers.
2. Price of Sandwiches: One specific criticism that stands out is the high price of sandwiches ($8 for a bite-size sandwich). This comment indicates that the prices of certain items, particularly sandwiches, may be perceived as excessive or a rip-off.
3. Competition: While the lack of competition on the island can be seen as a strength, it can also be a weakness. Some customers mention that they would prefer not to drive to larger supermarkets but are left with no choice due to the high prices. The absence of competition may lead to complacency in pricing and service.
4. Parking: It is mentioned that parking can be an issue during peak hours. This could be seen as a minor inconvenience but may deter some customers from visiting the store, especially if they have difficulty finding parking spaces.
Overall, Fox Island Grocery & Deli has strengths in terms of convenience, local corner market feel, additional facilities, quality products, and local ownership. However, the weaknesses lie in the high prices, lack of competition, and parking issues. The store could consider addressing these weaknesses to improve customer satisfaction and attract more business.

Really good place, currently 45min walking distance from it
Might ask if they need someone to clean the dishes at the pub.
Great place to pick up last minute groceries, propane & coffee.
How do you charge $8 for a bitesize sandwich!! What a rip off. Don’t buy a sandwich here
Very nice store that a few years ago added a bar and lounge, and a nice landscaping in the back. Live music is playing at times. Beautiful at night. Nice to have locally owned place such as this, especially a location to meet up with friends. Only negative is the prices. The grocery is very pricey compared to other establishments. However, it is the only store on island, so no competition.
The Fox Island Store offers a local corner market feel. The staff knows most everyone. They are overpriced, but what are you going to do, drive to Fred Meyer or Safeway? For the convenience of being able to stay on the island it is absolutely worth it. With Zogs on site you can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer, or fill a growler to make the trip more enjoyable.
It's a great convenience store/deli/pub in the evenings. The folks who staff it are always pleasant and it's got a family feel. It's got just about everything thing we need when relaxing "at the beach." The FI pizzas are quality. Also the coffee is decent in the mornings and they have a solid selection of beer. Zogs is popular in the evenings as a brew pub.
This Fox Island Grocery and Deli is a terrific island gem. The most friendly staff ever, always there to meet our needs. Of course the addition on Zog's pub is a well kept secret, that we don't want to share with off island foreigners, just kidding.
Pretty well stocked. Been coming here since I was a kid. Beats driving all the way to the harbor if you forgot something. Even better now that they incorporated the bar and restaurant in the back. Parking can fill up during peak hours so be prepared for that. Also not bad prices for gas so if you're on empty go ahead and fill up.
