Quick Facts About King Edwards
King Edward's Place, based on the given comments, has several strengths and weaknesses.
One of the strengths of King Edward's Place is the friendly service. Multiple comments mentioned the friendly and welcoming nature of the staff, which can greatly enhance the dining experience for customers. Additionally, the restaurant is described as cozy and comfortable, creating a pleasant atmosphere for diners.
The food at King Edward's Place is another strength mentioned by the comments. The fish and chips are consistently praised for being delicious and well-prepared. The portion sizes are also highlighted as being generous, providing value for money. The fish is specifically mentioned as being tasty and nicely breaded. The mushy peas are also noted as being fresh and enjoyable.
The pricing at King Edward's Place is considered another strength. Several comments mention that the price of the food is reasonable and offers good value for money. The combination of fish and chips mentioned in one comment came to £12, which the customer considered a fair price, except for the poor quality of the chips. The affordability of the food is seen as a positive aspect for families and individuals looking for a cheap and satisfying meal.
The location of King Edward's Place is also mentioned as a strength. One comment notes that it is in an ideal spot, near other eateries and attractions. The visibility of the restaurant is praised, with a comment mentioning the impressive window display that caught their attention. This, along with the affordable pricing, was a deciding factor for them to try the fish and chips from King Edward's Place.
However, there are some weaknesses mentioned in the comments that King Edward's Place should address. One major weakness is the slow service. It is mentioned that the staff were trying their best, but due to a shortage, the service was extremely slow. This can negatively impact the overall dining experience and make customers feel frustrated.
Another weakness is the quality of the chips. While the fish is described as delicious, the chips are consistently mentioned as being of poor quality. One customer even stated that they would consider the price fair if the chips were better. Improving the quality of the chips could greatly enhance the overall experience and customer satisfaction.
One comment mentions that the dine-in area is only occasionally open, particularly in the off-season. This can limit the options for customers and may cause disappointment if they prefer to eat their meal inside the restaurant. However, the comment also mentions that the takeaway option is great, highlighting the quality of the food provided for takeout.
In conclusion, King Edward's Place has several strengths including friendly service, delicious food, generous portions, reasonable pricing, and a good location. However, they should address the weaknesses of slow service, poor quality chips, and limited dine-in options to further improve the dining experience for customers.

Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war gut und eine sehr große Portion. Wir hatten Fish & Chips mit einem Bier und Cider für für 24,80£. Der Fisch war richtig lecker paniert.
Guter Fish&Chips Laden. Wirklich lecker aber auch nichts ausgefallenes. Einfach und solide.
Sehr gemütlich, das Essen war gut und reichlich. Preis-Leistung war sehr gut
We haded to this restaurant at the end of our day trip to Weymouth. The line was insane so we took that as a good sign. The service was extremely slow but the staff was lovely and trying their best despite the staff shortage. We ordered a classic combo of cod with chips and peas. I will say that the fish was definitely a highlight. The regular portion of chips was enough for 2 people and the chips quality was poor. Mushy peas were lovely and fresh. All together the portion came up to 12£ which would be a fair price if only the chips were of a better quality.
Good location, huge portions (best shared). Best plaice I have eaten. Cooked fresh. I would certainly eat here again.
It seems like the dine-in area is only occasionally open (at least in the off-season) but the takeaway was great. Very good quality cod and chips, in a generous portion - mushy peas were just okay.
If they can put such a display on in their windows ,this time f year halfway through the closed season,I will go out of my way too try their fish and chips, around the corner from Rossi's .so in an ideal spot.
As a ex councillor I'm always looking for value for money, some have are catering for the higher end..won't name them but we all know who they are £3.50 for a portion of meagre chips, next door to the kings arms ,won't be going back there.
Weymouth is still bucket and spade, when you have a wife and four hungry kids too feed you don't want too spend £50...on what is reality a cheap meal too produce..
So 11,out of 10 for visual display ..thankyou..✨⛄????????✨????????
My favourite fish and chip shop in Weymouth….sadly it’s takeaway only at the moment, so I had to sit opposite and have the seagulls watch me. But don’t let that put you off! £10 for a fish and chip meal
