Quick Facts About The Gazebo Pub and Riverside Dining
The Gazebo Pub:
Strengths:
1. Lovely and welcoming atmosphere: Many customers have praised the pub for its warm and inviting ambiance, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to visit.
2. Stunning views over the river: The pub's location offers beautiful views of the river, which enhances the dining experience and adds to the overall appeal of the establishment.
3. Friendly customer service: Numerous comments highlight the exceptional service provided by the staff, with specific mentions of the landlady, Nicky, and the barman, Charlie. This friendly and attentive service contributes to a positive customer experience.
4. Excellent food: The beef Wellington dish receives high praise, and the overall quality of the food is commended. Positive comments about the food signify that the pub's culinary offerings meet or exceed customer expectations.
5. Great for socializing: The relaxed and inviting atmosphere of The Gazebo Pub makes it a fantastic place to meet friends or enjoy a pint while walking along the Kingston riverfront.
Weaknesses:
1. Closed kitchen during lunchtime: In one comment, a customer expressed disappointment when they discovered that the kitchen was closed for lunch. This can be seen as a major setback for a pub, as it prevents patrons from enjoying a meal during a usual dining hour.
2. Poorly made hot drinks and wine: One customer reported receiving cold drinks and another received a wine that was unpleasant in taste. This suggests a lack of consistency in the quality of beverages served at the pub.
3. Limited beer selection: A customer complained that many of the taps were not functioning and that several beer options were unavailable. This can be seen as a major drawback for a pub, as it detracts from the overall experience and may lead customers to seek out alternative venues with a wider selection.
4. Expensive prices: The high cost of drinks, particularly the £7.10 bottle of beer, received criticism from one customer. Such high prices may deter some customers from frequenting the establishment, especially if they feel that the quality of service and products does not justify the cost.
5. Rude and discriminatory behavior: The most concerning feedback highlights an incident where a staff member named Nichola allegedly shouted at and belittled a group of Asian customers, exhibiting racist behavior. This incident indicates a significant flaw in the pub's management and staff training, as discriminatory treatment should never be tolerated.
Riverside Dining Place:
Strengths:
1. Beautiful views and outdoor setting: The comment mentions the picturesque scenery of swans and boats, adding to the enjoyable dining experience. The presence of natural beauty enhances the atmosphere and makes the dining location unique.
2. Initial positive impression during COVID-19 restrictions: The restaurant is commended for being one of the first places the customer dined at after the lockdown, suggesting a favorable impression and eagerness to support local businesses during challenging times.
Weaknesses:
1. Discriminatory and rude treatment: Customers felt humiliated and embarrassed by the staff member's rude behavior when they brought their own food into the restaurant. This incident not only reflects poorly on the establishment but also creates an unwelcoming and uncomfortable atmosphere for customers.
2. Lack of respect for customers: The disrespectful treatment received by the customers is further exacerbated by the fact that other customers were openly discussing and laughing at their expense. This demonstrates a lack of professionalism and a failure to create a respectful and inclusive environment for all patrons.

I love this place! One of the best pubs in Kingston. The new landlady Nicky and her team, have made the pub really lovely and welcoming. Stunning views over the river, friendly customer service and a relaxing atmosphere. Not to be missed. Pop in for a pint or two next time you’re walking along the Kingston river front. ????????????????
Lovely friendly bar. Staff were amazing. Food was excellent. We had the beef Wellington which was the best I've ever eaten. Nicola the landlady was very
welcoming and Charlie the bar man was very attentive and comical. Will be back next week for dinner after Christmas shopping. A definite yes from us.
This looked like a nice place with a decent menu. I went up to the bar (as the door banged behind me) and the barmaid asked what I would like. I ordered and paid for a drink, then asked about lunch. She told me that, unfortunately, the kitchen was closed for lunch today. I drank most of my drink and left. What good is a pub with a closed kitchen?
Went today with friends was planning on having lunch there ordered 2 hot drinks while looking over menu both were cold returned them to bar waited ages for new ones the marshmallows that came with the hot chocolate were as hard as bricks another friend had a wine very small and nasty was £6.20 and my friend who had alpine lager had to return it as was off! Hence we decided to go elsewhere no apology or anything
I couldn't believe my experience at this pub. We had booked a private area about a week in advance. Told them it would be for a lot of people. We arrived and at least half the taps were off. I ordered a beer. That was finished too. I ordered another beer, that was finished. I would say there were at least 5 lines finished...on a Friday night. I had to have the last beer they had left. £6.70. To make it worse, the people serving were in training and seem to have never seen a pint of beer in their entire life. The serving was awful. To it top off, a bottle of beer was £7.10. Criminal, I don't know how you can justify it.

Around 7:30 pm tonight (18/08/2022) , me and 2 of my friends ( we are asians by the way) went to this pub and ordered drinks, with us is 2 boxes of sushi. While we were drinking and waiting for our ordered food we decided to eat the sushi , then suddenly this lady staff named Nichola shouted on to stop eating the sushi, she was really rude and totally hostile and we felt embarrassed. She belittled us and she was very racist. The situation could have been handled differently. She should have not raised her voice to us. Her action was very discriminatory and socially racist. She did not apologise for her action. We removed our food from the table but still she continued to be rude to us. We left the place and we did not eat our food due to embarrassment. I will not suggest for you to drink/dine here. Not a good place to go, sadly they have a nice view of the river. Jinx on them. Bless her poor soul.
Treated unfairly by this lady who works in the resto just because we brought food in. We bought our drinks from this resto. Could have told us in a nice way but she was speaking loudly getting other’s attention. We ordered food after, and still was really rude to us. The people in the next table laughed at us and even talked about us. Humiliating customers is not necessary!
