Quick Facts About Uptown Barber Shop

Uptown Barber Shop, based on the comments provided, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. I will analyze each comment and discuss how it contributes to the overall perception of the shop.
The first comment states that the customer received the worst haircut in years. This highlights a weakness in the skills of one of the barbers. The fact that the barber admitted to not knowing how to cut the customer's hair properly suggests a lack of expertise in diverse hairstyles. This comment also mentions that the barbers primarily rely on clippers, indicating a potential limitation in their ability to use different cutting techniques.
The second comment, however, praises one particular barber named Tony, stating that he made the customer look great. This highlights a strength of Uptown Barber Shop, as it shows that there are skilled barbers in the shop who can deliver excellent results. The positive experience with Tony could potentially attract new customers who are looking for quality haircuts and beard trims.
The third comment mentions the inconvenience of the shop accepting only cash. This is seen as a weakness, as it can be an inconvenience for customers who prefer or rely on electronic payment methods. The customer suggests that the shop should consider opening a Square account to accommodate customers who do not carry cash regularly. This issue can deter potential customers who prefer the convenience of card payments.
The fourth comment mentions the cleanliness of the shop and a great haircut for the customer's son. This highlights a strength of Uptown Barber Shop in terms of cleanliness and the ability to cater to different clientele, including children. This positive feedback can attract families who are looking for a clean and reliable barber shop for their children.
The fifth comment provides positive feedback on the experience at Uptown Barber Shop, mentioning a specific barber named George who did a great job. This highlights another strength, as it shows that the shop has multiple skilled barbers who can deliver satisfactory results. The mention of a pool table and cool vibes also adds to the positive atmosphere of the shop, which can create a pleasant experience for customers.
The comment in which the customer rates their overall experience as above average mentions one unprofessional barber who spent most of the time on the phone. This highlights a weakness in the shop's professionalism and time management. However, the comment suggests that the other barbers are professional and friendly, indicating that this might be an isolated incident.
The comment that expresses dissatisfaction with the shop highlights several weaknesses. The customer was not greeted upon arrival and had to inform the staff about their appointment. This shows a lack of attention to customer service and organizational skills. The comment also mentions that there was hair blowing towards customers and water dripping during the haircut, indicating a lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. The comment also mentions the barber feeling tired and rushing through the haircut, suggesting a lack of commitment to providing quality service.
The final comment praises Uptown Barber Shop as the best in Santa Barbara county and recommends two specific barbers, Erika and Rob. This highlights a strength of the shop in terms of skilled and recommended staff members. Positive word-of-mouth recommendations like this can attract new customers who value high-quality service.
In conclusion, Uptown Barber Shop has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. The positive comments highlight skilled barbers, cleanliness, and a positive atmosphere, which can attract new customers. However, the negative comments mention weaknesses in terms of skill, customer service, cleanliness, and convenience of payment methods. Addressing these weaknesses could improve the overall customer experience and reputation of Uptown Barber Shop.

Worst cut I’ve gotten in years. My barber admitted to me he doesn’t know how to cut my hair, he just knows how to cut it all around. I should’ve gotten up and left, because my Grandma could’ve done the same thing for free. Basically, the only tool they know how to use is the clippers.
Tony made me look like a million bucks! I was passing through town during a camping trip and was in need of a haircut and beard trim as not to look like I just crawled out of a cave. I called the day before to set up an appointment and when I showed up he was ready and waiting to put his magic scissors into action. Great job Tony. Sure wish I didn't live 4 hours away or you would have me as a regular. Highly recommend !!!
Tony only takes cash. Would have been nice to know before arriving, wasn’t told over the phone when I made appointment. I don’t carry a debit card on me for cash back at the nearby liquor store. Sign up for a Square account, in this day in age very few people are carrying around cash.
Overall aside from this lack of communication, the shop was clean & my son got a great haircut.
I went for my first time to this spot last week and they did a great job! ((THANK YOU GEORGE))! Awsome spot, pool table in shop, cool vibes! Keep up the good work.
Had a great haircut! I dropped in, and was immediately serviced. Nice staff, clean.
Above average experience (3.9). There is one barber in particular that was unprofessional calling and having me waiting in the chair for long periods, in the end had to rush me out when another appointment came because he spent most of the time on the phone. Hopefully you don't get that barber. Everyone else is professional and friendly. Great atmosphere. Parking could be an issue due to the limited parking spots. I would recommend!
If I could put no stars I would.
Made an appointment, showed up and was not greeted by anyone. I had to tell them I was there for an appointment with a Barber. The barber looked at me and didn’t say a word. Aside from me waiting 15mins to get my haircut 2 barbers where blowing the cut hair on the floor towards the seats with people and the shop doors wide open. Hair flying everywhere. While I was getting my haircut the guy soaked my hair and there was water dripping all over my face. Stayed like that the whole time. Not only that, Rob said he felt like he was half fasting my haircut and talking about how tired he was. Lmao Super bad quality haircut and business.
Best barber shop in the Santa Barbara county, hands down. When I moved to SB, I was struggling to find a place to get a hair cut. My housemate told me how great place is, and he was not wrong! If you’re having a hard time deciding which barber, I highly recommend Erika and Rob.
