Quick Facts About NY Dominican Hair Salon
The NY Dominican Hair Salon has received a mix of positive and negative reviews, which will be analyzed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the salon.
Starting with the strengths, it is evident that some customers have had positive experiences with certain hairstylists at the salon. The comments mention hairstylists such as Sandry, Lina, and Liliana who are praised for their skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver the desired results. These positive reviews indicate that the salon has some talented and skilled hairstylists who can provide quality services.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the special offers and promotions available at the salon. One customer mentions getting a free deep conditioning treatment on Mondays, and another mentions free deep conditioning on Tuesdays. These special offers can attract new customers and incentivize them to try out the salon's services.
Additionally, some customers appreciate the promptness and efficiency of the salon. They mention minimal waiting times before getting started on their hair and being able to get in and out of the salon relatively quickly. This indicates that the salon values customers' time and strives to provide efficient service.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses identified in the comments that the salon should address. A common complaint is the lack of communication and poor customer service. One customer mentions that the hairstylist took too long to style their hair, even with no other customers. Another customer mentions feeling rushed by the stylist and experiencing rude behavior. Additionally, there are complaints about the lack of transparency regarding pricing, with customers being charged more than initially communicated. These comments suggest a need for improved customer service and better communication with customers regarding prices and services.
Another weakness mentioned is the perception of racism in the salon. One customer states that they felt the salon had a racist atmosphere, possibly due to judgment towards their natural hair and an interaction with a transgender individual. This comment highlights the importance of creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers.
Some customers also mention the salon being overpriced for the services provided. One customer specifically mentions paying $69 for their hairstyle, which they felt was too expensive. This suggests that the salon may need to review their pricing structure to ensure it aligns with customer expectations and perceived value.
In conclusion, the strengths of the NY Dominican Hair Salon include talented and skilled hairstylists, special offers and promotions, and efficient service. However, the salon needs to address weaknesses such as poor communication and customer service, transparency in pricing, perceptions of racism, and potentially reevaluate their pricing structure. By addressing these weaknesses, the salon can improve customer satisfaction and attract repeat customers.

First time here, the hairstylist was very nice but, she took too long to style my hair. She left me my short hair in the dryer for over 30 minutes and she had no customers. I also thought that it was overpriced for the what she did $69 not including tip. I do not recommend this location if you have future appointments coming up and the lack of communication from stylist she just left while having me on the dryer. 1/5 stars from me.
STAY AWAY! I never leave reviews but this I had to after the worst experience. This place has horrible customer service, and will tell you a price upfront and then somehow charge you extra without any notice. Sandra did my roller set and stated the price would be $25 over the phone, and then at check out it ended up being $40 when that was never comminuted, and even after confirming the price prior to the service. On top of her being rude and aggressive with my hair I left feeling rushed by the stylist with horribly frizzy hair. The manager didn’t do anything about it either which makes it no better. Save your time and money and go somewhere you’re valued.
Sandry was the best!!! She knew exactly how I wanted my haircut and highlights! She had attention to detail, very thorough and diligent! I am very pleased with my results!!
This was my first time going to this Salon and i am so glad that i did! I went on a Monday and was able to get a free deep conditioning. They offer this Special Mon- Wed so that was cool! I didn't have to wait but 5 mins before getting started on! Lina Was awesome. She was very attentive to my needs! Her Magic Fingers washed my hair like no other! She did not mind that i didn't want to have a roller set and sit under the dryer, so she blew out my hair first and then she flat ironed it! My hair was LAID FOR THE GAWDS! I will definitely be coming back and recommend others!
Lina is one of the most hard working and skilled hair stylist I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I literally moved from Marietta 3yrs ago and I will not change her, I rather take the 30 minute drive. When Lina starred working in my hair it was dry and damaged from all the crazy stuff I liked to do to it. It grew long and healthy, Lina takes care of your hair needs always on time and super clean and professional. This woman is so amazing and her hands are so blessed that I went from Black to Blond with absolutely no damages and my hair so so soft and hydrated. Lina take the time with your hair and knows her products and steps to make sure you are absolutely satisfied and your hair doesn’t suffer in the process. I don’t trust anyone else but her in my hair. I speak of her because she my hair dresser but all the ladies working at this Salon are really good at what they do and I would definitely recommend them to anyone that’s looking for amazing service and excellent results.
Maria styled my hair to perfection. I've never had it so silky. I will definitely be going back. Especially on Tuesday's, because they do free deep conditioning.
I walked in I was not greeted by anyone then a transgender person (I don’t want to use the wrong terminology) looked at my natural hair and told me my hair couldn’t be roller set and to get shampoo and blowout my hair would be $65 …PLEASE keep in mind my hair isn’t course or very curly and my hair length is at my neck. I walked out.
The mood of the salon felt very racist I don’t think of these Dominicans understand they are a minority like ME they have a clouded judgment of who they are. It’s sad. I hope one day I will able to find a proper (New York style)Dominican Salon in Atlanta.
I have been getting my hair done by Liliana for over 2 years now and I love her so much. I used to live near the salon and just walked in from driving by. Now I live in Midtown and still make the trek, even in rush hour traffic, to get my hair done by Liliana. She is genuinely a kind, hardworking person and really cares about her clients. Going to the salon is like a retreat for me. I love chatting about my life and theirs. Erica the other stylist is so sweet and does great work (trust me I've seen her work many times). I love how they wash my hair. They always ask what intensity you want and if you have any itchy spots so they can focus on you. They have even taken me before they close and stay late, never complaining or rushing. Beauty is a process, ;). The final product is always amazing. I literally tell Liliana to do whatever she wants and I'm always very happy. I feel great (even turn heads).
