Quick Facts About Raika Studio
Raika Studio has received a mix of positive and negative comments, indicating both strengths and weaknesses of the salon. In terms of strengths, the salon is praised for the skill and expertise of the stylists, as well as their attention to detail and ability to cater to difficult hair types. Additionally, the salon is described as being beautiful, clean, and well-decorated, creating a pleasant and serene atmosphere for clients. The lather lounge treatments, such as head massages, are also highly praised for their relaxation benefits.
Furthermore, the salon is commended for its friendly and welcoming staff who make an effort to ensure clients feel taken care of. This includes offering beverages such as coffee, tea, and champagne, as well as providing guidance on how to care for colored hair after leaving the salon. The pricing is also highlighted as being fair and affordable, especially considering the high-quality services provided.
On the other hand, weaknesses are also evident in the comments. One major concern is inconsistency in the quality of services. While some clients have had excellent experiences with their stylists, others have been disappointed with their haircuts and styling. Communication also seems to be an issue, with some clients feeling that their desires were not properly understood or that their stylists lacked enthusiasm and engagement. One client also expressed disappointment in the lack of explanation regarding product options and the noise level within the salon.
In addition, there are some criticisms regarding the pricing structure and the inclusion of additional services. One client felt that the breakdown of costs was not clearly communicated and received an unexpected reaction when inquiring about it. Another client mentioned the need for different pricing options for individuals with more complicated hair requirements, as they observed the salon spending more time on clients with thicker, curlier hair.
Despite these weaknesses, the overall impression of Raika Studio is positive. The salon is generally seen as a pleasant and inviting space, with talented stylists who can deliver great results. The pricing is considered reasonable, and the additional amenities, such as the lather lounge treatments, are appreciated. However, improvements could be made in terms of consistency in service quality, communication with clients, and clarity in pricing structure to ensure a more exceptional experience for all clients.

Dominique did an amazing job with my hair, which is notoriously stubborn for color. She made sure we were on the same page with price and style from the start. I also appreciated how neat and meticulous she was with coloring and cutting my hair, even when it didn't lighten as much as we'd hoped. But she tamed my hair in the end and I'm very happy with the cut and blue streaks that I asked for! Everyone I interacted with at the salon was also friendly and made sure I knew how to take care of my color before I left. Would definitely come back to see Dominique again!
Decided to try a new salon since I work in the area. Place is beautiful and clean. Service was amazing! I thought I found my forever salon until I saw my hair later that night. Yikes!
In all my years of haircuts, this is defiantly a first. The stylist gave me a few long spikes, and no I did not ask for this. Not sure if my stylist doesn’t know how to cut straight hair or if my black hair got lost on top of the black hair bib ????♀️
I have been receiving my hair services at Raika Studio since the day they opened! Excellent service from all who work there! I get my cut and color with Kathleen and her team, vibrant red, which is stunning! The team takes great care of you from the second you walk in until the second you leave! I love this salon and encourage all to stop by and get a Lather Lounge Experience....it is unlike any other!
I don't know why this place has such amazing reviews. For an $80 haircut I should LOVE it. When I walked in, it was nice and I was greeted and offered a drink. The lather lounge was comfortable but no one explained that I had options of what product would be used on my hair. Only afterwards I saw the menu near the stylist's chair with various oils and etc. It also wasn't particularly relaxing to hear the conversations outside, if you're going to partition it, the wall should be complete and not leave a small space near the ceiling for all the noise to travel. My stylist Stephanie, I don't even know what to say. It seemed like she wasn't really interested in communicating and she did not look very happy to be there. I did not love my cut and styling in the end, she used serum on my hair and it was flat in about 30 minutes of me walking out of the salon. Because I don't like causing a scene I paid and tipped and left. I left a 20% tip. I will not come back.
Very fairly priced which is mostly why I chose to come here. I had the most wonderful experience. Tatiana is absolutely amazing! Plus a huge bonus is that their overhead lights in the hair wash room are off so I was able to really relax. I cant wait to go back!
Raika Studio is amazing. I've gotten blowouts all over the city and this place by far is the best. I've only been to Dominique & Tatiana but they're both INCREDIBLE and able to blow out my very thick, curly, unruly hair to perfection (with some curl at the bottom and not stick straight). They have a lunchtime special so if you're able to sneak out of work you can get a blowout from 12-2pm for only $35! They also give you a legit 10 minute scalp massage that feels amaaaaazing before your hair appointment. I had Brian today he rocked it. It's a gorgeous salon conveniently located in midtown and I can't recommend it enough. Oh also, they offer you coffee/tea/wine/cucumber mint water.... helllooooo! Raika is the best.
Raika was a decent experience but I expected a touch more after reading the reviews beforehand. It is true that from the moment you walk in, you feel pampered. They want you to feel as if everything is taken care of.
Lather Lounge treatments are separate from a haircut. On the menu, it says they come with a head, neck, and hand massage. I received a lavender-mint treatment for my hair and the head massage was amazing, but there was no neck or hand massage as stated. It’s wintertime and some oil on the hands would have been nice and relaxing.
The stylist, Nina, is incredible and experienced. She doesn't overdo the small talk and she checks in a few times to see if your hair is how you'd like it. My hair is straight and simple, so I didn't have a particular style or cut in mind but Nina figured it out. In the end, I asked to trim a bit more and she took the time to make it perfect. She is full of energy and definitely worth seeing.
When I first arrived, I was offered coffee but I noticed everyone else drinking champagne, including the lady who had a baby face next to me. For consistency, always offer the huge champagne! When I asked the lady at the front for the breakdown between the cut and the treatment, she actually gasped and acted as if I had asked her for her weight, but I was just trying to figure out the gratuity.
Since I went through the trouble, the cut was $60 and the treatment was $30. I would definitely go back to get a haircut from Nina but the premium treatment was too short! Some people just have complicated hair so they should maybe consider different pricing. I watched them spend over twice the time to take good care of someone with thick, curly hair yet I did not need much work at all.
Really nice little find! Clean, well decorated, and with a meditative, spa like wash room with dim lights, incense, and waterfalls that make you feel like you're in an oasis. Also, my hair has never looked better after the most skilled cut that let me keep growing my hair longer while getting rid of all they dead ends! The relaxer was expertly applied too! I'm very picky about hair salons, and I highly recommend this place! It's also very affordable as far as women's high end salons go.
